I painted this image at church during worship on June 5, 2022, - Pentecost Sunday! In the Bible, fire typically represents the presence of God. Moses came into the presence of God when he neared the burning bush, the Israelites were guided and comforted by the presence of God in the form of a pillar of fire while sojourning through the wilderness, Emanuel (“God with us”) took the pervasiveness of His abiding presence to a whole new level at Pentecost. Same fire. The Hewbrew lettering down below reads, “I Am” (there are differences between ancient and modern day Hebrew).
All purchases from All Things New come with a copy of the prophetic word, dream, or story behind the piece.
Unframed. Can be displayed as is, or framed.

Like most prophetic paintings, this piece will likely impart different things to different people. At the time I paintinted it, we would often sing this song in church with the following lyrics, “I know who I am because the ‘I Am’ tells me who I am.” In a world where the identity of our nation, our faith, our individual selves, and things as obvious as our gender come routinely under attack, this painting reminds me that questions of identity are often quickly resolved once we settle the question of God’s identity. Who is God? Is He a good God? Is He involved in the affairs of men? Does He have plans for us individually and collectively? Can each little person on earth be the focus of immeasurable love and attention at the same time? How much power does He have at His disposal for backing this up? If the Bible is your go-to and the Holy Spirit is allowed to, “...guide you into all truth” (John 16:13, NIV), then it becomes clear that your Creator, Savior, and Friend IS good! He has always been involved in the affairs of men. There IS a plan for everyone and everything! You are the apple of His eye! And how much power is at His disposal you ask? A mind-blowing and scary amount! That’s why the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom! “I am who I am because the ‘I Am” tells me who I am!”
